Description : Ibuprofen inhibits Cox (cyclooxygenase) selectively, targeting Cox-1 and Cox-2. Ibuprofen has also been shown to inhibit PGH synthase-1 and PGH synthase-2 with similar potency. Ibuprofen is clinically useful as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Ibuprofen is reported to inhibit the netrophil-dependent edema response of rabbit skin to C5a/PGE23.
